Dr. Wood is faculty member at the International Institute for Innovative Instruction at Franklin University, where he specializes in instructional design. He has served on the faculty at Franklin for over 18 years and has practiced instructional design since 1988. 

Dr. Wood’s experience includes serving as chair of the Instructional Design & Learning Technology graduate program, designing, developing, and implementing a master's degree curriculum, conducting program evaluation and assessment reviews, and managing numerous instructional design projects for Franklin University and external clients. 

Prior to joining the faculty at Franklin University in 1999, Dr. Wood served as an instructional designer at Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU) in Oak Ridge, Tennessee where he worked on various instructional design projects with the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Navy, and the U.S. Air Force.
